Low paid workers demo in Catania

Low paid coouncil workers held a demonstration in the centre of Catania this morning.

We had just got off our hop on hop off tourist bus when we found ourselves in the middle of a demonstration which included a token blind woman with a loud whistle and an elderly handicapped man both in wheelchairs in support of workers who do the jobs which nobody else wants to do.

It goes without saying most were women. At one stage I thought there were more police than demonstrators.
