Dolphins Galore

Today we went to Russell by ferry to visit two places important to the early settlement of New Zealand. First was a visit to Christ Church, the oldest existing church in the country. We were treated by the Operatunity performers to a concert of Spiritual songs inside the church. From there we went to Pompallier House where church texts and bibles were translated from Latin to Te Reo Maori in the early 1840s.

After, we climbed aboard the tall ship - the R. Tucker Thompson, and sailed through the Bay of Islands while eating a barbecue lunch, cooked and served by the crew.

The best part of all was when we sailed into the midst of a large pod of dolphins that leaped and gambolled around us. One dolphin had her young one beside her. They put on an amazing display and gave me my blip for today. There is also a pic of the tall ship and other dolphin pics in the extras. In the first extra the dolphin looked like it was smiling at me.

Many thanks to all those who have left comments, stars and hearts over the last few days. I am sorry I haven't been able to comment , but have been looking at all your blips in odd snatched moments.
