foraging...

...in the local supermarket car park (as you do) where shade is provided with the usual eucalyptus trees and this Schinus molle.
Native to the Peruvian Andes the pink peppery fruit is often sold as pink peppercorns and blended with commercial grinding pepper blends.
I first 'met' these when my foodie/forensics buddy S pointed out trees glowing with pink berries as we walked through an inner city street to Saturday lunch.
Tempting? Without doubt but needless to say there are foraging warnings a plenty!

However the fresh leaves are burned for cleansings and blessings and also for dyeing natural fabrics...might give the former a go!
