FUN PLAY....

.... well the BIG Gun arrived when we arrived home yesterday so today was "let's go play day".

Decided on the Tamron 150-600mm G2 series - and whilst knowing with the Nikon 7100 it will need me doing a few more exercise to lug around! Sure got some weight so decided would push the boundaries and go "hand held" and just see what happens.

To cut a long story short decided also to just see what came up and try a few variations.

My main shot was in fact the second one taken - the little wax eye was around 40-50 metres away - being down along the Redbank creek the light was only average. Realised after that I did not try with some exposure compensation so will check that later.

All in all,  very happy, and interesting dof in the closer shots one here .
With the massive development work around here tried a few of the "gear" one here which is not cropped and is around 300 to 400 metres out.

So what did I decide......

..... very happy at this point overall
..... it is certainly NOT a carry around kit - oh maybe just a short way!!
..... next test with a tripod / monopod
..... quite impressed with the sharpness of a flag shot here
