Street Corner Society

Golden stroll

Between the gale force freezing wind and occasional bursts of snow there was a blast of late afternoon light. This is on Leslie Street, which is one side of a square with beautiful sandstone tenements, making up the Centre of East Pollokshields. Some of the tenement buildings still have the original Charles Rennie Macintosh windows. I admire them every time I wander past. You can just sneak a glimpse in the far corner of the start of the extremely well-heeled West Pollokshields, which has roads full of Victorian villas.
