What a day!

A little worried about the location of our accommodation with the impending snow meant we stayed local ish today.

LandscapeGirl found a National Trust property at Ilam for us to visit and that’s where the bulk of our day was spent.

We did venture over to Ashbourne afterwards and I had a very lovely rum and raisin cheesecake in a local tea room.

Today’s blip was taken somewhere near Ilam on way back to B&B. ‘‘Twas freezing!

The remainder of journey saw my fears come true as the car wasn’t able to get up a hill a mile or so away from our destination.

Luckily our hosts had given us a shovel and a box of grit. So after a hairy reverse to the bottom of the hill out came the shovel and a few minutes road clearing saw us back to the warmth of our B&B

Not sure what tomorrow will bring.
