Joseph French Bootmaker 1874

I found this advertisement by accident the other day when I was googling for Family history. Joseph French was my Great Grandfather who moved from Uley, Gloucestershire to Kidderminster where he became a Cordwainer and subsequently a boot and shoe maker.
I love the wording of the advertisement ‘in thanking his friends and public for their patronage and support during the past 12 years.....’ . He had taken on the premises of the ‘Golden Boot ‘ - I was thrilled to find this because it gives me such a closer feel to his times!
