The dropped stitch

Hoswick

Rather low energy levels through the morning, so I treated myself to a coffee break at the Hoswick cafe. I was so pleased to find it open! Apparently it has stayed open all winter this year. I'm sure the locals have appreciated it.
There is a very interesting exhibition area, as well as the cafe and a selection of local craft work.
From after the Second World War there was a small weaving industry in the village. The blip is of one of the warping machine which was used in a nearby cottage. They continued with hand warping, warping for automatic looms and weaving small rugs until the late 1960s.
A beautiful piece of machinery.
