He's Back

Pileated Woodpeckers have a very distinctive call.  I was in the house packing up for a photo outing tomorrow, when I heard it.  Sure enough, Mr. Pileated was back, on the tree.  There's no missing that scarlet crown.  I grabbed the closest camera, which happened to be my new Sony RX10.  I love this camera, in part because it's so easy to get it out and start snapping away.  This was taken through the window, at a slow shutter speed because the light wasn't great, but at least  you can get the idea.
