Thawing

After a snowy, icy start to the day, the sun made an appearance this afternoon and things started very slowly to thaw, including these somewhat Nora Batty-like stalactites hanging from our roof.  The dogs have had several play sessions in the garden today in lieu of a walk because it's a bit cold for them with their Westie lungs and also because they get 'snowball feet' which quickly become uncomfortable.  We'll definitely be hitting the common tomorrow though, which will do us all good.

One good thing about our enforced snow day today is that I got a lot of work done, researching and writing-up a paper I'm doing jointly with my supervisor.  Fingers crossed the rib has made it to Scotland with no weather hold-ups en route...
