Symbiosis (with gratitude)

Finally got my beautiful birthday gift from J; G& E on the wall- a stunning original painting by Welsh artist Julie Ann Sheridan.

Based on photographs she took of endangered and semi-endangered lichen at the National Botanic Garden of Wales, it depicts the symbiotic nature of foliose lichen with fungus - a cohabiting relationship that can extend the environments they live in significantly.

They cannot live without each other...
