The Magpies are back...

Lots of activity today with the Magpies whizzing in and out of their tree with bits of twig.  They've been sitting on the tall hawthorns like vultures, cackling at one another.  There are already signs that they're raiding nests, I found a broken egg beneath the nest of the Collared Doves that visit the garden every year, and every year the Maggies tear the nest out.  When will they ever learn.
