Flying visit

Every so often today a Buff-tailed Bumblebee zoomed into the garden and tried to find some pollen. It spent a lot of time checking the flower clusters on this Skimmia japonica and various viburnums, but very few of the flowers were sufficiently open for it to collect much, as you can see. Each day now should bring a new wave of flowers opening, so it just needs to hang on!
