Vermilion Poppy

Found in Los Altos, CA. I used a trick I've perfected for flowers in tough settings. This on was shot at a mid-telephoto range, stepping away until it was filling the frame and in focus - sometimes tough to do. This one was growing in a city garden box along a sidewalk with a dark green car behind it. With the right settings, I got the color near perfect and the dark green ended acting like a drop.
