The Start Of A Very Long Night

This is the famous Rock of Gibraltar, shrouded in low cloud, taken from a terrace at the airport while we were waiting for the plane. Very picturesque, I thought.

What I wasn't prepared for was that this bad weather would prevent the incoming plane actually landing at Gibraltar! So our plane went to Malaga instead. And we had to wait two hours for the coaches to arrive to transfer us. And then we had to sit on a coach for about an hour while we waited for the all-clear to leave. Then had to get off the coach almost straight away to walk through Spanish border control. Then wait to get back on the coach again. Then endure the two hour trip to Malaga. Then wait an hour for everyone to get processed through the new airport. Then a 2.5 hour flight. So I arrived at Luton Airport at 3:00am. I checked into an airport hotel to get some shut-eye and drove back up north (another 3.5 hours) this morning. I'm knackered.

Still - the business trip was a roaring success! Just a shame about the return journey.
