Today's the day . . . . . . . . . to lose power

We are currently in the middle of a power cut - something which I have to say rarely happens here, certainly during daylight hours when the weather is fine.

It really makes you realise how much you take an uninterrupted supply of electricity for granted. It also makes you realise how many bits of equipment in the house need electricity to work. It completely throws your little routines at this time of night!

We're lucky to have a woodburner to keep us warm and a gas hob to cook some supper. And I'm going to get candles lit right now so we can see. It's actually quite good fun.
