Sports relief

It’s been a busy old day at school. They had orchestra first thing because of the days events. Katies really enjoying the arrangement of Mountain King as the teacher has given Clarinet 1 a solo bit. They played for assembly after rehearsal as normal. She was thoroughly delighted to have missed their spelling test and tables test! This afternoon it was their Sports Relief activity. The whole school (pupils and staff) ran or walked a mile, mainly in fancy dress. Katie chose her typical option of a random assortment of bright coloured dancewear! I was marshalling so it was lovely to get to watch them all. And tie many shoe laces. One of the y3 teachers commented to me as he passed how encouraging Katie was being of her friends, running back to them to cheer them on and making sure none of them got left behind.

We had a lazy time when we got in from school, chilling out with blankets and Into The Woods. She then did a really stunning clarinet practice. She played one of her G5 pieces with phrasing and emotion like I haven’t heard her play it with before.

She often goes from 100mph to “this kid needs bed Right Now”.... and that moment has just occurred!
