Carving on tree

Each week as we go to Lidls we noticed a tree close by had been chopped down.It was marked and obviously being carved.
Its been completed and the flowers must have been planted last week when I was away
.The Ceremony must also have taken place then.
The Pitman is standing on a bed of coals.The detail is brilliant.

I think Bates Colliery is where I guess some of my husbands family worked is about the area where Lidl stands.
