Hard rain

Alternative.

It has rained steadily all day. Arnaud Beltrame, the gendarme who swapped places with a hostage in the supermarket, died in the small hours of this morning. It's hard to contemplate such heroism and self-abnegation; he must have known he had almost no chance of making it out alive. And chilling that it happened in such a banal location. 

I'll think twice before shopping there again, not because I believe lightning could strike twice in the same place -- it's just the thought of walking in the aisles buying mundane everyday supplies where people were murdered, .
