2 TINY BOATS

but there were many more, the boats were made for the children of the fourth class, and they were asked to complete them with their own creative ideas.
Our friend Gerlinde had been asked to view all boats and choose three for prizes.
She had sponaneously agreed, but then had had hinterthoughts and she had asked me if I wanted to help her choose. Of course I would.
But first in the morning we had an excursion, led by Christian Schneider,
he had done lots of research into the history of the Diemel canal.
Highly interesting. We started (a small group) at the Rathaus and walked along the Diemel, and at certain points we learned a lot about the story of how and why the canal was build.
Then when we arrived at Helmarshausen there was a market with plants, for exchange or possible to buy some.
And the children had brought their boats from home.
Gerlinde and I we took our time to look at these small boats, and in the end Gerlinde had chosen 5 boats for prizes, all children got a pansy and a medal.
The fire brigade collected the boats and would let them float in the Diemel in the direction of Karlshafen. Got them at some point and bring them back. It should symbolize the connection between the two towns, because in the past there had been (or still is, I am not sure) a kind of not so nice competition. I had imagined to take photos of the boats in the river, but alas that would not happen.
Gerlinde and I walked the shortest way back, uphill to the Krukenburg ruin (the sheep had disappeared already) and then the forest path down again.
An eventful day.
 I show 2 extra photos.
