Getting the sparkle back

Moby...

...was a sperm whale, over 15 metres long and weighing nearly 40 tonnes. He was beached on a mudbank in the Firth of Forth on Easter Monday 1997 and was the first sperm whale to be stranded in the Firth since 1769. I remember efforts being made to save him, but they were to no avail. It's thought that he died from septicaemia as the result of a long-standing injury.

I was at the Museum of Scotland to see the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition which was good - but it did make me feel that you needed money to win! One of the winning photos was taken by a 5 year old. Now who lets a 5 year old have an SLR??? And a lot of the winning entries were taken in countries on a different continent from the photographer's home, including the young contestants. Maybe this is just me pouring cold water on things again!
