Our new Hacienda....

We are now in another airbnb in a place called Nosara, further south than the last place. This is our final place, we're here for the next 4 days. by the way that is not our hacienda in the photo, just a little home in the distance!

It is a spectacular rancho, which means that the main living space is completely open with no windows or screens......just this stunning view. the bedroom has sliding screens so we can sleep without the bugs getting us. The guy that owns it, Ray and his wife Elizabeth live below and were more than helpful when we arrived!

However yet another rather horrendous drive here! I miss understood some part of his directions and we ended up on what Ray describes as the 'coastal' road...oh and by the way, their favorite!!! Well i tell you it was sheer hell......unpaved, rutted and very windy.....we were on this road for about 1 1/2 hours - coupled with the anxiety of not completely trusting our GPS or our map thing on my tablet, it was rather a stressful trip. But once we got here and talked with Ray we were fine. The roads here are like nothing i have ever experienced........and so of course on our way home from dinner, very close to our place - it was great - we took a wrong turn, late, dark, stressed and exhausted from all the travels....i almost lost it! but i held it together - we did a uturn and headed back the way we came and found the right road!

Everything looks so much more positive in the light of day. and the day starts early here.....5.30 am the roosters, dogs and howler monkeys begin their choir of calls!!! oh well, we don't have to do anything for a little while. Might get out the paints and relax! then we will explore some of the glorious beaches around here.

We are certanly learning a lot during this vacation......and will be able to fine tune it a bit for next time!
