Girl from the North Country

So pleased to make the last day of this wonderful play with music by the master, Nobel laureate, Mr Robert Zimmerman. A captivating confection of stories of the Depression era circa 1934 with lyrics and music of 15 Dylan songs threaded through and showing the marvellous adaptability of his words to support a narrative of love loss despair and ultimately human resilience in the face of a catastrophic failure of capitalism. (Sounds familiar?). On top of that one of my favourite Dylan tracks which I somehow failed to spot but reminding me of my very own girl from the north country.
Plus a pre-theatre meal at Gaby’s with best friends Sandy and Fran , a fantastic eastern Mediterranean cafe on the Charing Cross that’s survived for 50 years in the face of destruction by property developers
