Turbing at last!

Finally a decent weather day for the Turb Team’s first practice day of the year. A boggy airfield saw the crew tail running as the aircraft taxyed along and with hardly a puff of wind it was calm conditions for formation flying.

A murky, chilly start turned into a brighter milder afternoon. The limbo poles came out and the full flying circus act was rehearsed twice over.

It was such a thrill to hold the pole as my team buddy RV came hurtling towards me for the first time. DB flew the limbo too, his second time but first this year.

Big smiles all round by the end of the afternoon and we’re all looking forward to warmer weather next time around.

This evening I popped along to an open mic night in the next village to meet a jazz swing band performing for a client of mine in coming weeks. Another reason to look forward to sunny spring days.

Photo today is the pilots doing their ‘walk through’ where they walk the routine to check positions before flight. This shot captures a moment of ‘talk through’ more so than ‘walk through’!
