Holton Heath nr Wareham

This morning I had coffee and lunch with an old colleague from Frome at a nearby farm shop ; we chatted and got engrossed so it was a dash home before Paul and I went off to Sandford for our bird walk - there’s a nature reserve there at Halton Heath .
Whist we were walking, very few birds appeared but apparently before we arrived red kites had been spotted!!!
I was pleased that I managed to spot a Dartford Warbler though but it was just lovely to tramp around on the cris crossing paths admiring the Scots Pines which I love to hear in the wind.
One of the group was 70 yesterday so there was the added bonus of birthday cake . !
