Budding magnolia

Here's hoping the buds haven't been too damaged by the sudden deep frost, that occurred twice these past 4 weeks. I'm photographing these each day, kind of trying to get them to bloom by looking ;-)
I like the contrast between the hairy, leathery and callused outer skin and the soft shiny silky texture of the flower petals.

Soon off to get the new orthotics, here's hoping they make a difference !
