Binning Memorial Wood

Yesterday my son and I visited Binning Memorial Woodland which is now a green burial site. It was planted originally in 1707 but much of the timber was used in the Second World War foe making the air frames for the Mosquito fighter-bombers.

It was replanted just after the war and has already after 60 years achieved considerable maturity forming and immense canopy over this green burial site. 

The lighting was fairly subdued but it made the photography a lot easier as we were not coping the with the immense contrasts that sunny dappled lighting brings in a woodland environment,
