The Lake of Menteith

It's always worth making a slight detour when I'm en route to Aberfoyle. On a clear day the views across the Lake of Menteith are stunning. Today the gates were open so I didn't have to climb over the fence!

The boat trips over to Inchmahome Island have started .... if you want a trip you turn the signal on the jetty to white and the boatman will come over from the island.

I know that Mary Queen of Scots spent some time at Inchmahome Priory when she was a child .... I need to visit the island myself to learn more of the history.
