Just to get a feeling for the smallness of oneself: find the 8 people crossing the huge Zufallferner (Vedretta del Cevedale) in the photo. Hint: two groups of two, one group of four.

The last day of our ski mountaineering trip. We started at Rifugio Pizzini (2,706 m), where we spent the night, towards our intermediate goal Rifugio Casati (3,269 m) (the accomodation of our first night). As the avalanche risk was non-negligible (we made a block test to assess the situation) we decided to switch from skinning to climbing along the ridge (with the skis on the back) at approx. 3,100 m. Of course, that didn't discourage a group of Americans to skin up a risky slope anyway (luckily without incident).

From Rifugio Casati we went on to the summit of Suldenspitze (Italian: Cima di Solda) (3,376 m), from where we made our final ski run of the trip all the way down to my car in the Martell valley (German: Martelltal; Italian: Val Martello) (2,051 m).
