Spire

Today I discovered, amongst other things, that the simple pyramid shaped spire of St Magnus Cathedral was replaced with this more pointy gothic one somewhere around the turn of the last century.

I also discovered that I am an idiot.

Discovered it was sometime after 1930 that they replaced the spire. But I still don't know why.
