Hot cross buns

This is the second batch, I think my yeast was out of date and even the birds won't touch the first batch!
Mr F went out to buy me some more yeast and this is the result! I didn't let them prove twice as I was running out of Good Friday, so mixed them up in the kitchenaid, with the dough hook, kneaded them a bit, divided into 12, and left them to rise. Not sure why they need to rise twice usually as they tasted ok!
