Mother's Pride

Granddaughter Charlotte visiting Auntie Laura and Uncle J in West Sussex. Being an Irish lass, she will no doubt become the female Pat Eddery of the horse world. Perhaps her Mum and Dad and brother who went along for the Easter trip, would prefer she followed in the footsteps of a top Irish trainer, Jessica Harrington.

Her Mum could do the managing. She has enough experience.

WHAT IS BELOW IS THE ORIGINAL POST I MADE ON THE DAY:
Despite my demand that nobody comment, I was (as usual) ignored. So letting it stand and have put the original photo in as an extra.

THIS IS NOT AN EMERGENCY BLIP, IT IS A TEMPORARY BLIP.
COMMENTS ARE LIKELY TO BE MEANINGLESS IN A FEW DAYS
SO PROBABLY BEST TO SIMPLY IGNORE THIS POST AND ENJOY EASTER

And apart from the above, all good Catholic Blipers will know the Bliped newspaper clip cannot apply to a Good Friday or Easter Saturday entry coming out of Bavaria.

From midnight Thursday until midnight Saturday, there is a dance and public music ban in Bavaria,

The Irish Folk Band "Mother's Pride" from Augsburg played at our parish's Dampfsäg event hall last Saturday. I really must try to look at their programme more often. Shame that on their regular Thursday afternoon/evening organic food market where the bar and food are open and in good weather one can sit out in the garden, is one of Angie's regular sports days and I am always on dog walking duty.

This week, the film "Victoria & Abdul" was shown. I have never managed to get there for a film either so can't say if the €6 charge and the seating at beer tables, eating and drinking while watching a film is better than a bucket of popcorn and pot of Coke on plush red velvet chairs.

Mother's Pride seem to have been through a number of personnel changes since they were formed in 1985. I suspect Irish nationals were the founders but looking at the names of the current members it now seems they are all Germans. So the missionary expat Irish had great success and have no doubt moved on to conquer other countries. I see they can be seen in the area, often free of charge, in beer gardens in the summer.

The Dampfsäg specialises in alternative music - jazz, swing etc

In a few days, I will be replacing the photo and text but the title "Mother's Pride" will remain with an Anglo -Irish connection but no sign of a threatened loaf of bread.
