Always Burning

Semper Ardens - Always Burning. An inspiring and motivating moto. And I'm sure the brewery had their passion for beer in mind when they came up with it, it can be seen in many places around the grounds. They also started with the swastika logo on their beer in the 1880s. The other motivational saying here (top of frame) is Laboremus Pro Patria - work for the fatherland. All very innocent, however, you can't help but wonder if a little bloke with a 'tache ever saw this and thought "hang on".

Officially Calrsberg gave up the Swastika as a logo in the early 1930's but I have been in the archives and have photographed bottle labels with them on from '42/'43 along with ash trays from the same dates.
