Santa Teresa - Rather Lazy

Neil was sleeping long while I was up at 8 am and enjoyed our terrace with the wonderful view of Cristo.
We did not get out until later in the afternoon - after a late breakfast - and walked the way down to the centre of Santa Teresa wondering where we could get a coffee.
It was very hot and we walked the Brazilian style - very slow! It took an hour or so.
Since we stayed here before a few years ago, we were still quite familiar with the neighbourhood, but there were a few new places.
We walked over the small crafts market and I bought a lovely summer top to wear with what had became my favourite garment, a Chapati skirt from Berlin.
We then went to the Café do Alto, where we got served a really nice cup of coffee while they had a Samba Session going.
It is also a restaurant and we both studied the menu. Pity that we were not hungry at all.
So we went for another walk around the area.
Passing by the restaurants we were chatted to by a waiter who spoke excellent English. We ended up having a quite long conversation about learning languages and he told us his secrets. He also tried to teach me some phrases and make sure I got the pronunciation right. We did have fun!
Coming back to the centre square we went back to the first place and decided to have a small plate to share and have a caipirinha.
It ended up being 2 caipirinhas and a quite biggish plate with carne seca, manioc and fried cheese. It was delicious!
As they were closing at 9 pm we called an Uber and had to wait quite a bit until it arrived.
Uber is really handy when you do not speak the language! They know where you are going and all is set!

Back home Neil had another beer while I was on herbal tea.

We were both knackered and crashed before midnight!

Main Blip: This mural was just on the main street in Santa Teresa Centro. It is taken after dark.
Extra: Once more our terrace view!
