Castles and kings

The first castle house at Kenbane, 5km from Ballycastle, was built in 1547 and after that time, many new iterations emerged as invaders came and went. Today it is a ruined, listed site, with little evidence of its often gory past. It is a reminder of things past, of how we understood protection and home at times when outside was uncertain and often unsafe.
Unfortunately many people today still experience "the outside" as a harmful, fearful place and so rarely emerge from their own safe place. We can assist them in integrating by offering the gift of friendship, support and solidarity.
On the few hours between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, theology was stood on its head with Jesus preaching to the "souls of the dead" in one translation.
Theology means literally a word (about) God and is evidenced in actions, such as a gift of safety. Share the gift and maybe offer some a resurrection experience.
