Dog tooth violet

I planted about a dozen dog tooth violet corms a few years ago.  I now read that they are best planted as growing plants, as they are often reluctant to start from the dormant state.

Certainly, they've taken a couple of years to get going.  But we now have a good number of budding plants.  A mixture of these with the very dark blotchy foliage, and the pagoda variety with lighter green foliage.  They're much behind compared to last year.  I'm afraid we'll miss the best of the show this year.
