Flying in

A birding trip today in search of a few bits. 1st stop was to Hartsholme park where a party of Hawfinches had been seen , managed to see about 5 from a party of 10 or 15 a nice record for this area.
We then had a trip over to Rutland water as a few bits had been seen. We managed to see  most of them but all to distant to get any shots. on the list of birds  Slav grebe,Black necked grebe , Great northern diver , Scaup & Osprey. The only one we missed out on was American Wigeon which was seen yesterday but not seen today.
This shot was taken at the feeding station of a Green finch coming into land on the feeders. On the way home we popped into Collingham lakes to see some Smew. So all in all a good collection of birds seen.

Upon returning home I got told that Jae's car had broken down this morning on  the other side of the city. So a quick trip over there to get it recovered . Been in the AA I called them out as I am covered in any car. The problem was that it was loosing power and cutting out. When the AA arrived he checked it out I was half expecting to be towered home. Thankfully he knew what the problem was it was the Ignition coil misfiring so replaced that at a cost of £60.00 which was a lot less than what I thought it might cost Jae.
So all sorted back home and time to relax before having to go back to work tomorrow .
