Glen Affric

Not your usual view of this beautiful glen.

The lochs water level is well down and its not because of water extraction from the Hydro system further down river. This is water depletion from the extremely dry summer that has been experienced over on the west side of Scotland.

My mate and I arrived at dawn hoping for a brilliant sunrise as the forecast was clear skies and frost. We went to the head of the Glen overlooking Strawberry Cottage but it didn't materialise. We came back to this location, had a much needed hot coffee then walked around the shore line. We had seen the tree stumps from the road and went for a better look. The sun oblidged for about 15 minutes, just giving life to the trees and highlighting the thin dusting of snow.
