Wood Anemone

The birds were on sunflower heart rations yesterday and this morning I went out to buy more supplies and then cleaned and refilled the feeders.  The goldfinches have gradually returned during the day but there's been no sign of the siskins, so maybe they've moved on.

The river is very high and covering large parts of local fields as it snakes its way through the outlying villages.

JJ and I have been to Raymond Blanc for a belated anniversary lunch and I have to say, it never disappoints, and the portions sizes are very sensible.

I've had a late afternoon walk, slipping and sliding through muddy paths, and Salem Thrift resembles a stream.

The wood anemones, violets and primroses are well under way but the bluebells are barely showing their leaves so perhaps they'll be later this year.
