Watching, but what?

Another walk in the Domain today. This time not for lunch, which I had no time for, but after a supervision session with the registrar. In each six month attachment, they have to do at least one observed interview of a new patient, formulate their diagnosis, and then present that to the supervisor (who was present during the interview). They can be failed on this, so its very stressful for them, especially when still in their first year of training. She did well, and importantly is aware of where to make improvements.

Yesterday, I had the great news that the SHO who was with me when I was doing the inpatient Mother and Baby unit last year, has decided to train in psychiatry. She was almost equally interested in working in women's health. Perhaps my encouragement to combine her interests in maternal mental health services, an important and still fledgling area of practice has helped in her decision making.

Out in front of the Grandstand in the Domain was a group of exercisers (looked like they had a group (personal) trainer. Not sure if the solitary spectator was watching them, something else or just soaking up the Autumn sun. It was a truly gorgeous afternoon for a short walk through the Domain.
