A Grand Victorian Structure

Burnley Town Hall - a Renaissance-style Grade II-listed building which was opened in 1888 on Manchester Road.  It is built from sandstone with a central octagonal clock tower with a copper dome.
Any day now it will grow scaffolding enabling essential works to be carried out on the roof and clock tower.
Eagle-eyed blippers may note the Mayoral Car (an Audi) outside the entrance is sporting the Registration Number HG 1.  This goes back to the days when car number plates incorporated a three letter code - letters 2 and 3 signifying where the vehicle was originally registered.  Burnley had HG and CW.

Wide Wednesday challenge today with the theme of 'structures' - widwed040418.
