Views towards Dartmoor

Seven walkers from our group set off on a six mile walk today. We had a long climb which took in several million years of geological history. I wore my wellies again so had no problem with all the mud and puddles. At first we had no views and then it cleared to reveal these views from Keble’s Seat, a bench in memory of John Keble, an English churchman and poet and one of the leaders of the Oxford Movement. Keble college, Oxford was named after him. He wrote a book of poems for the Sundays and feast days of the church year called the Christian year. He met Samuel Taylor Coleridge and William Wordsworth. We got hailed on before we finished the walk but it was very interesting.
