Irresponsibility

The Newburgh seals have claimed a couple of dogs so far this year. It's not really something you can blame the seals for, they're wild animals, and a bull seal is naturally going to feel threatened, and react accordingly, when faced with a dog. The last was a few weeks back, when the dog of a guy shooting ducks was grabbed - the hunter had to put his own pet down when it managed to get free.

Now you can approach the seals from the opposite side of the Ythan's mouth. I've done it once, holding my distance. These two? Oh no. Notice the number of seals on the shore? A number had already been scared into the water, hen when they decided to walk past within about 20 yards, stopping to take photos, all but one had fled to the water. The remaining seal a big bull. So in one action this pair managed to spoil the view of the seals of the responsible people on the opposite side; and run the risk of creating aggression in a bull seal while any slip of the lead could have put their dog in perfect danger of death.

Just so utterly stupid.
