FLORIDA BUFFALO

When you think of Florida, you think of buffalo – right?!

Payne’s Prairie Preserve outside Gainesville, FL, is a 21,000 acre wildlife sanctuary where everything from alligators to wild horses, and tropical birds to wild buffalo, roam the land.  Today we spotted this group of buffalo, (bison).  Payne’s Prairie is a beautiful, peaceful place to explore, with several trails through aged cypress trees, enormous live oaks and several kinds of palms.  You can see that areas of this preserve are still flooded, to this day, from Hurricane Irma last September.  With this photo, I hope you can get an idea just how vast this place is.
