La vida de Annie

¡Los turistas vienen!

Actually a lot of them are already here over Easter. The roads are getting silly, with cars on the wrong side of the road, or overtaking on blind bends, and in fact a British cyclist was killed recently by a drunk British driver (at 11am!). I wouldn't go as far as saying the Brits are a blight here, but am always glad when they go back to Blighty (see what i did there?).
In other news: this morning was a vet appointment for Maxie to have her lady bits out before sending Buster into a rampant frenzy, and also to get her teeth looked at as they seemed somewhat dodgy. Before collecting her in the evening I had a hospital appointment with the traumatology dept to look at my painful shoulder - my GP had speculated it was arthritis like my hip, but the meds have had no impact. The specialist believed it was an inflammation of the ligament, caused by a malformation of the top of the arm bone, and gave me a steroid injection to relieve the pain in the short term, and an appointment for an MRI scan (in June, as not an emergency) to see if an operation is needed.
On collecting Maxie in the evening, the vet said her op had gone well, but he'd had to extract a number of teeth. When I asked how many, he smiled ruefully and said she's not got many left! He produced a bag of nasty decaying teeth which she's obviously much better without. She seems bright and alert and managed to gum a hearty meal back home.
All in all a positive day, although I had an emotional moment when going into the consulting room where Minnie died, and another later when social media reminded me it's Phil's birthday - he died last year.
