Regular Visitors

Over the last year or so the deer have begun to visit the paddock behind our garden on a regular basis. Previously we only saw them on maybe one or two days a month but now they are almost daily visitors. The fact that one of the fawns was born and raised in the paddock last year has perhaps made it feel a more secure environment for them (despite the fact that our dogs and especially Megan, the puppy will frequently be barking at them over the fence). This is a shot I managed to grab of the young male when they were quite close to our fence. As many as six deer can be seen regularly in the field though there is, of course, only the one male. We have yet to see two adult males fighting for supremacy in the rutting season.
