Day One

Another woodworking class. This time I’m a student, and it’s a three-day class.

We’re making a rectangular box with dovetail splines at the mitred corners — similar to the one I made in class a couple of years ago. The splines haven’t been trimmed flush yet in the photo. That’s the homework assignment.

This box is going to have a fancy hinged lid with a decorative panel. It’s going to be really nice, but you’ll have to wait a while to see it finished — the last day of class is three weeks from today. I hope the suspense won’t be unbearable.
