open doors

Life is often like a series of open and closed doors. We try something and it works or it doesn't. Gate open or closed.
Gates offer opportunities as well as safety. As methods of closing gaps and preventing animals (and people) from straying, they are invaluable. As openings, beckoning us to come further, to enter new pastures, they are freeing and enticing.
We can be fearful of doors and prefer they remain closed as we are unsure where they might lead. Maybe this is because of past experiences.....
In the New Testament when Jesus made the claim to be "the door" in Aramaic this meant literally I will accompany you along the way.. in that sense lead you by accompanying you,  personally as a guide not a map.
So, too sometimes we might be "the way" to assist the transition of others to new things. Exciting prospect!
