Our Kea

I had the rare opportunity today to watch our Kea being banded and have a tracking device fitted to him. This young man lives in the Mt Cook region. He will wear the little transmitter on his back like a tiny backpack.Until such time as it wears out and falls off, of it gets chewed off.  Such a privilege to meet people with such a passion for these birds. There is a great website where you can access every Kea that has been banded and report a sighting. I have the joy of having one named after me!!!!!!   here
