Myakka River State Park

This was Wayne's (rower2012) last full day with us before he started his long journey back to Australia. Steve & I thought Wayne would like Myakka River State Park, on the water & where lots of birds, fish, turtles, and alligators live! We did see a few alligators, from a safe distance . . .

The main photo/blip is one I love, one that truly shows Wayne's joie de vivre ~ exuberant enjoyment of life! :o) Here he's on the Canopy walkway suspension bridge and we are on our way up the 70 ft tower that overlooks the park. I am going to include a few more photos in the extras: The first one was taken by Steve -it's of me & wayne crossing the canopy bridge and you can really see the whole structure. The second one is a selfie (triple!!) that Steve took of us at the top of the tower. The third one is a portrait of Wayne that I took while he is photographing from the top of the tower. The last one is of an alligator swimming that I took, while we were all safely on an airboat ride on the lake! More: Myakka River State Forest

I feel very fortunate to have met Wayne (and many others) though blip, to be able to learn about each one of them and enjoy their photographs here on the site. Not to mention being able to meet up and spend time with some of these friends, despite the fact that some of them live about 10,000 miles away!!! Amazing. ❤
